# Other relational products

Revision 1 (11 October 2026) · Modeled snapshot · through 8 October 2026.

All figures are research-informed estimates of analytical activity. Significant errors may remain; decimal places do not imply measurement precision.

Layer: compute. Values cover the years in which this category appears in the public timeline. Absence is not proof of zero use.

## Names and inspection notes

### 1976–1978: Early relational databases

Early commercial databases organized data into tables and supported relational queries. This is a pooled estimate of their reporting activity.

### 1979–2026: Other relational products

Relational engines without a separate box. Examples over this history include Rdb, Progress, SQLBase, and InterBase/Firebird, in their available years. Desktop databases and Informix have separate allocations. Rdb remains in this pool after Oracle’s acquisition; it is distinct from Oracle Database. Only analytical work is counted, and the individual products’ shares within this pool are not estimated.
