[Informix vendor-specific interface](https://history.columnar.tech/technologies/access/vendor-informix.md): historical names and annual shares.

Informix was primarily an OLTP database family. This box counts only its reporting and analytical work, not its transaction-processing footprint or share of database revenue. The family covers SE, OnLine/Dynamic Server, and later XPS warehouse deployments and analytical extensions as they become available. Db2, Red Brick, and Cloudscape remain separate product lineages despite corporate ownership. The shares are estimates; the small 1981 slice represents early availability, not measured adoption.

Connections below describe the whole Informix engine. Access and storage mixes are estimated separately; they are not a joint interface-to-storage distribution.
